SRMC Communications summer internship 2025

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) works to safely reduce the risk to the community and the environment of radioactive liquid waste stored in aging waste tanks at the Savannah River Site, located in Aiken, South Carolina.

I had the opportunity to work as a communications summer intern for SRMC from early May through the end of July. My role involved a wide range of responsibilities in internal and external communications. Key tasks include writing and editing internal communications such as company announcements and safety messages, crafting human interest stories, and composing news releases for SRMC publications. Externally, my duties involved writing press releases, feature articles, and planning "evergreen" social media posts.

This position allowed me to engage in executive communications, and allowed me to network and grow my professional development.
