Video for Visual Communications, Spring 2025

This course showed me how to develop the theory, skills, and techniques needed to create high-quality videos for use in a variety of media applications,

including editorial assignments, informational messages and persuasive communications.

Instructional Video

The purpose of this assignment is to create a video that will teach my viewers how to do something, in this case make cookies, through the use of visual images with no spoken words. The secondary purpose is to showcase my knowledge and use of camera angles to create an interesting video.

Promotional Video

A 30-second to one minute promo video, fast-paced, tight edit to the beat of music you choose to promote a business or non-profit - I chose a local Columbia spa called Skinhouse.

Product Video

I chose Eilish, a perfume by Billie Eilish,  to create a 45-second to one minute long, fast cut product video.

Final Video Project

For my final project, I had to create a journalistic feature story focusing on a nonprofit organization or a volunteer making a difference in the community. This project was in the form of a mini-documentary, combining a compelling interview with well-composed B-roll footage to create a visually engaging and informative narrative.
